Gulfshore Hosting Pet Supply Drive through September to Benefit the Naples Humane Society & Brooke’s Legacy Animal Rescue
Join Gulfshore throughout the month of September as we raise awareness of two fantastic charities – The Humane Society and Brooke's Legacy Animal Resuce. These organizations depend on the generosity of our community to give the best possible care to the dogs and cats awaiting homes. This month, money raised from internal staff fundraisers will benefit these groups.  Gulfshore employees will also be participating in a pet supply drive throughout the month.

Gulfshore Recognized for 2011 Relay for Life Fundraising Efforts
As an avid supporter of Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society for the past 14 years, Gulfshore Insurance once again participated in the 2011 Relay for Life event held April 15 through 16 at Gulfview Middle School. Gulfshore was recognized for the following at this year’s Relay for Life: Top 10 Tent Site; Fantastic Pre-Relay Fundraising Efforts; Show Me the Money – Teams that reached their fundraising goal; Sapphire Level Fundraising Level of $15,000 or more; and as a Top Team by raising over $15,000. Relay for Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in our community the chance to remember loved ones lost; fight back against the disease; and celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer.  

Gulfshore a Proud Sponsor of the Annual Avow Hospice Butterfly Release
On April 11th, Gulfshore proudly sponsored the 2011 Avow Hospice Butterfly Release at Cambier Park. The event was an opportunity to honor memories of loved ones and celebrate life. At the close of the event, the tent was opened for a breathtaking release of hundreds of butterflies. All proceeds benefitted Avow Hospice. 

Gulfshore Walks to Unmask Mental Illness at the 9^th Annual NAMI Walk
On Saturday, March 19th, Gulfshore Insurance participated in the 9^th Annual National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) Walk at Cambier Park in Naples. NAMI’s mission is to improve the quality of life for the one in four families affected by serious and persistent mental illness through education, support, and advocacy. For more information, visit www.nami.org.

Gulfshore Walking Team Participates in Susan G. Komen ‘Race for the Cure’
On March 12th, Gulfshore Insurance participated in the 2011 Susan G. Komen ‘Race for the Cure’ at Coconut Point in Estero. Susan G. Komen for the Cure is dedicated to fighting breast cancer on every front, with 75 percent of the funds raised staying in the local Southwest Florida community. For more information, visit www.komenswfl.org.

4^th Annual Cupid’s Crusade Valentine’s Day Cake Raffle Raises $1,200 for The American Cancer Society
On February 11th, Gulfshore Insurance hosted its 4th Annual Cupid’s Crusade fundraiser benefitting the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Delicious homemade sweets and treats were raffled and raised nearly $1,200 in support of Relay for Life. 

Gulfshore Awarded “Outstanding Corporate Philanthropy” by Community Foundation of Collier County
The Community Foundation of Collier County celebrated its 25th anniversary with a luncheon and the naming of the Outstanding Corporate Philanthropy Award recipient. The award recognizes an organization that consistently helps to reinforce the community by making intelligent use of its own strengths and social capital. 

1^st Annual Humanitarian Week Raises $1,000 for Six Deserving Organizations
In December, Gulfshore hosted its 1st Annual Humanitarian Week, a week-long event that spotlighted six deserving non-profit organizations -- The Shelter for Abused Women and Children, Avow Hospice, Humane Society, St. Matthews House, Relay for Life - American Cancer Society, and Liberty Youth Ranch. Each day of the week was filled with fantastic employee volunteer and donation opportunities, including ‘Adopt a Family’ and ‘Angel Tree’ events, holiday parade float decorating for Avow Hospice, preparing and serving lunch at the St. Matthews House, and much more. The week of events was a great way for employees to learn more about each organization and give back to the community. The generous support of Gulfshore employees helped to raise nearly $1,000!

Charity Softball Tournament Raises over $15,000 for the American Cancer Society
Gulfshore Insurance is pleased to announce that the third Annual Charity Softball Tournament in conjunction with the Minnesota Twins raised over $15,000 for the American Cancer Society, surpassing its goal. In addition to the participation and phenomenal support of area businesses, the American Cancer Society was in attendance, along with many cancer survivors from the community, and Major League pitcher and former Twins player, Bert Blyleven. The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer; remember loved ones lost; and fight back against the disease. The funds raised will be used to help fund research, education, advocacy, and service programs that save lives and ultimately eliminate cancer.

Gulfshore Insurance Employees “Walk for the Way” at 5th Annual United Way Walk
On September 25, 2010 a team of Gulfshore employees came out to walk in full support of the United Way of Collier County's 5th Annual "Walk for the Way."  The "Walk for the Way" is a 2.5-mile family walk and community event that takes place at the North Collier Regional Park to heighten public awareness of needs in the area and raise money to support over two dozen social services agencies, who in turn help more than 100,000 Collier County Residents.  http://www.gulfshoreinsurance.com/Uploads/UnitedWayWalkGSI.jpg

Gulfshore Receives Economic Development Council “Excellence in Industry” Award for Civic Responsibility
Gulfshore Insurance recently received the 2010 Economic Development Council of Collier County’s (EDC) “Excellence in Industry” Award for Civic Responsibility. The EDC celebrated Florida’s 27th Annual Industry Appreciation Week during the “Excellence in Industry” awards luncheon at the Naples Hilton. The “Excellence in Industry” Awards honor Collier County’s top companies who exemplify the use of innovation and a responsible approach to economic diversification and business and community enhancement.
