Humanitarian Foundation

As an organization that is proud of its roots in the community, in 2009, Gulfshore Insurance announced the creation of the Gulfshore Insurance Humanitarian Foundation “Helping Hearts, Helping Hands,” an employee-driven initiative. The Humanitarian Foundation places emphasis on programs that serve the needs of the local southwest Florida communities; that are not-for-profit and provide services and support to area residents; and in which Gulfshore employees are actively involved as contributors or volunteers.

At the beginning of each year, employees vote for their preferred organizations to receive both monetary and volunteer support. Each non-profit is matched with two or more employee liaisons. The Humanitarian Foundation committee meets quarterly to plan various fundraising events and activities to garner continued support. Gulfshore Insurance’s Humanitarian Foundation charities are:

In the past few years, Gulfshore has donated nearly $100,000 in support to such local organizations. Highlights of Gulfshore’s Humanitarian Foundation’s efforts over the past few years include: our annual Humanitarian Week in December spotlighting and raising awareness of our featured charities; Soak the Sales Team that raises tens of thousands of dollars in support of Avow Hospice; regularly preparing lunch at St. Matthew’s House homeless shelter; our annual Giving Tree where we fulfill the children of St. Matthew’s House holiday wishlist’s; our Valentine’s Day Cake Raffle that raises funds for The American Cancer Society; and casual “Jeans Days” to raise funds for all of our featured non-profit organizations.
